The first time Georg tried to ride a board, he was 15. Back then snowboarding in Italy was still in its infancy. It wasn’t easy finding the right equipment.

Since there were no snowboard instructors, Georg took his first steps helped by friends and with the support of Rino & Klaus’ snowboard center.

This paid off. Two years later he competed in the South Tyrol Cup series.

In 1991, Georg became a snowboard instructor.

In 1994 he passed the exam for C- level instructor in Austria, sponsored by the Austrian Snowboard Association (ASA) and also becomes a snowboard instructor in Italy.
He competes in National and Continental Cups, as well as in some ISF World Cups.

In 1996 Georg wins his first national title in slalom, followed by a second title a year later.
He also becomes a national snowboard instructor and a member of the Italian snowboard instructor commission.

1998 he gets his first podium in a World Cup event, becoming one of the top 15 ranked boarders in the world.

From 1996 to 1998 he is one of the dominant riders on the Europa Cup circuit, winning the Overall Europa Cup once.

1998 he tries to qualify for the Olympic Games in Nagano (JPN), but is unable to make the Olympic Team.

1999 he makes the team for the World Championships in Berchtesgaden (GER) where he finishes 11th in parallel slalom, after being beaten by his teammate Karl Frenademetz.

He participates in the XVI Interski Congress in Beitostolen, Norway, as a member of the Italian demonstration team.

2001 he finishes 16th at the World Championships in Madonna di Campiglio (ITA), beaten by Frenchman Mathieu Bozzetto only by a few hundreds of a second. 2000 he achieves the 8th place at the Goodwill Games in Lake Placid (USA).

2000 he and some friends, all snowboard instructors or ex athletes, open the Snowboard School 2000 in Selva, Val Gardena-South Tyrol.

2001 due to serious back problems he spends almost one month in hospital followed by a long recovery.

In 2001, after working with various snowboard companies, Georg founds the Rabanser Snowboard factory, working with Marco Aldeghi, one of the best snowboard constructors in the world.

2002 he tries to qualify for the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (USA) but is not able to qualify due to his back problems. 2002 he becomes coach of his Pro-Snowboard Team, a new team with young, promising athletes. 2002 he opens a summer and winter racing camp.
